FREDERICK @ Chicago Children’s Theatre

“While other mice are gathering food for the winter, Frederick daydreams the summer away. But when fall weather comes, it is Frederick who has stored up something special for the long cold winter in a celebration of the idea that there is a place for all of us in this world. Originally a world premiere in CCT's 10th birthday season, this charming musical based on Leo Lionni’s classic, much-loved Caldecott Award-winning book features a book by Suzanne Maynard Miller and a spirited folk and rock blues music score by Sarah Durkee and Paul Jacobs, performed live, on-stage by a talented cast of six actor-musicians.”

ABOUT JEREMY

I am a seeker of experience, knowledge, connection, and truth. I believe theatre is a medium for healing on a societal level, not merely for entertainment or airing out dirty laundry.

A native of the Quad Cities, I began playing piano at age 7 and acting/singing at 9. I was incredibly fortunate to grow up in a vibrant theatre community, which allowed me to dive deep into the craft from a young age. I began music directing as a junior in high school, leading productions such as Next to Normal, Beauty and the Beast, and High School Musical. I continue to return to my alma mater to music direct and coach the students of Blue Devil Productions.

There was never any question that I would pursue a career in theatre. In 2022, I earned a BFA in Acting with a minor in Piano Performance from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. Since graduating, I’ve worked as an actor, singer, dancer, pianist, music director, private coach, and teaching artist with companies across Ohio, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Iowa, Georgia, and Florida, and have now happily landed in Chicago for the foreseeable future.

Outside of the arts, you can find me practicing my flow in a Yoga studio, throwing kettlebells around in a weight room, or doing a combination of both outdoors. I received my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Certification in 2021 and began teaching in 2022. My practices in yoga, Tai Chi, and strength training help me build a healthy relationship with my body, and offer tools I pass on to my students. These somatic approaches help get them out of their heads and into the doing of the work.

My work, whether on stage, behind the keys, or in the classroom, is guided by the belief that storytelling can change lives. I’m committed to building a career that fuses artistry with service, and I’m always eager to connect, collaborate, and create with those who share a passion for expression and growth. Whether you’re a fellow artist, student, audience member, or my mom 😉 thank you for being along for the ride.
